Position: Trees Officer
Location: Dartmoor National Park Authority, TQ13 9JQ
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 6+ Months
Working Hours: 22.5 hours per week, 09:00 – 17:00
Pay Rate: £ 20.29 Per Hour

Job Responsibilities

  • Inspect, assess, and maintain trees across the park.

  • Provide expert advice on tree management and safety.

  • Carry out surveys and prepare accurate reports.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Support conservation and planning projects involving trees.

  • Liaise with colleagues, contractors, and external stakeholders.

Person Specification
Must-Have Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in arboriculture or forestry.

  • Experience in tree management and assessment.

  • Knowledge of UK tree legislation and safety regulations.

  • Ability to produce clear reports and documentation.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-Have Requirements

  • Experience working in protected or conservation areas.

  • Familiarity with ecological or environmental planning.

  • Use of GIS or tree survey software.
