Signshop Operative

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a role with a wide variety of tasks within our busy inhouse signshop. You will be joining a friendly team and will have the opportunity to develop the role.

Are you an enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills with the ability to multi-task and solve problems? If so, this is your opportunity to make a difference to your community and see your work county-wide.

You will:

• be using various applications to manufacture and assemble a wide range of signs
• apply vinyl graphics by hand and using plotters and large format printers
• work closely with a multitude of teams to meet deadlines and customer expectations

We are looking for a new team member with great attention to detail and someone who is committed to the highest standards. You must also:

• be a robust team player, with a flexible approach, keen to support colleagues working in our friendly and busy team
• have exceptional communication skills are required for this role and you'll share our values building good working relationships with colleagues across Dorset Highways and the Council

This is a physically demanding role involving regular lifting, movement and standing for extended periods, a good level of physical fitness is therefore required. Training will be provided, but we would like someone with skills which are transferable to this role, with a willingness to learn quickly with the support of your team colleagues. The successful candidate will require a driving licence and be able to travel to Charminster depot, where the Operational Support Team is based as well as the depot covering their area of works in Dorset.
