Job summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Advanced Senior Carer to join our team and help deliver outstanding care to children and young people with complex health needs within the community. This role combines advanced clinical care with leadership responsibilities, supporting both the families we work with and the wider care team.

As an Advanced Senior Carer, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care while supporting complex clinical interventions such as enteral feeding, airway management, oxygen therapy, and other specialist care tasks in line with your training and competencies. You will act as a role model for the team, mentoring carers, promoting safe practice, and ensuring care is delivered to the highest professional standards.

You will work closely with the Care Coordinator and management team to support rota coordination, problem solving, and maintaining consistent service delivery. This role also involves recognising and escalating safeguarding concerns, maintaining accurate documentation, and contributing to a positive, supportive team culture.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, compassionate, and confident in handling complex care situations. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families while supporting the development of others within the team, we would love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

The Advanced Senior Carer will support the delivery of safe, high-quality care to children and young people with complex health needs in community settings. The role involves providing hands-on care, supporting clinical interventions in line with training and competencies, and ensuring that care plans are followed accurately to meet each childs individual needs.

You will act as an experienced member of the care team, supporting and guiding other carers, particularly newer staff, to ensure consistent standards of care. This includes sharing knowledge, offering practical support during shifts, and promoting good practice within the team.

The role also involves working closely with families, maintaining clear communication, and helping to create a stable and supportive care environment. You will be expected to recognise and respond appropriately to changes in a childs condition, escalate concerns when necessary, and maintain accurate and timely documentation.

You may also support the coordination of shifts and day-to-day operational matters, helping ensure continuity of care and effective teamwork. This role requires strong professionalism, reliability, and the ability to remain calm and confident when managing complex or challenging care situations.

About us
