What to Expect

During your 24-month placement, you will:

• Lead analytical method development to tackle consumer challenges.

Key Responsibilities

As a key member of our team, you will:

• Design and execute advanced laboratory experiments focused on volatile and semi-volatile analysis using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).
• Develop, validate, and implement innovative analytical methods, utilizing advanced sample introduction techniques like Headspace Solid-Phase Microextraction (HS-SPME) and Thermal Desorption (TD).
• Analyze and interpret complex data to provide actionable insights for technology development.
• Collaborate with senior scientists, engineers, and product developers to drive R&D initiatives.
• Take ownership of critical analytical instrumentation, ensuring optimal performance.
• Communicate findings through technical reports and presentations to diverse stakeholders.

What We Look For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• A PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or a closely related field (either currently enrolled in your final year or recently completed).
• Demonstrated expertise in GC-MS with a preference for 3+ years of hands-on experience.
• Experience with advanced sample introduction techniques for GC-MS, particularly HS-SPME and/or TD.
• A strong foundation in analytical chemistry principles and a passion for laboratory work.
• Academic excellence and a proven track record of independent problem-solving.
• Demonstrated curiosity, creativity, initiative, and strong communication skills.
