Your Role
As an Apprentice Administrator, you will play a vital role in supporting our fostering team and ensuring smooth operations within our office. You’ll be working within the Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards, helping us maintain the highest standards of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support, including:
- Maintaining databases and electronic filing systems
- Producing professional emails and letters
- Processing incoming and outgoing post
- Photocopying and message taking
- Processing invoices
- Support the social work team with data collection, recording, filing, and auditing
- Maintain accurate records of families and children placed
- Build supportive relationships with foster parents as a key point of contact
- Liaise with Local Authority Social Workers and other professionals
- Monitor training records and ensure compliance
- Order stationery and maintain office equipment
- Take minutes at team meetings and distribute them accordingly
- Contribute to our online information platform and newsletter
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Basic administration skills
- GCSE/equivalent in maths and English (A Level 2 Functional Skills qualification can be completed alongside your apprenticeship)
- Strong customer service skills and a warm, confident personality
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage your own workload
- Familiarity with IT and electronic communications, including Microsoft Office
- A proactive approach, open to direction and willing to seek advice when needed
Working Conditions
This is a full-time apprenticeship position, requiring 35 hours per week. You will also have dedicated time during your work week to attend your Business Administration Level 3 course, either in college or online.
