Join the RAC as a Mobile Vehicle Technician in our SMR Division!

Welcome to a new era of mobile repair! At the RAC, we’re not just about roadside rescue; we’re pioneering a fresh approach with our Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division. Here, you’ll deliver planned, structured repairs and servicing directly to our members, whether at their driveway or workplace car park. Say goodbye to emergency callouts and unpredictable shifts!

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Mobile Vehicle Technician, you’ll enjoy:

  • Routine servicing and diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
  • In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop
  • Providing member advice and recommendations based on inspections
  • Conducting vehicle safety checks aligned with RAC standards

Your day will start with a clear digital schedule, allowing you to focus on delivering quality work without the stress of reactive breakdowns. You’ll be part of the Bournemouth cluster, covering areas like Bournemouth, Poole, and Christchurch.

What Makes SMR Unique?

Our technicians love working in SMR because:

  • Enjoy planned appointments instead of emergency responses
  • Experience consistent workflow without unpredictable demands
  • Engage in in-depth repairs rather than temporary roadside fixes
  • Have the time and support to do the job right
  • Utilize clear schedules through RAC’s mobile service platform

What You’ll Need

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • A Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles
  • A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

No CV is required to apply, and it takes just 5 minutes to start your journey with us!
