Your Role in the SMR Division

You’ll be part of the Chesterfield cluster, covering areas like Chesterfield, Mansfield, Alfreton, Bolsover, Clay Cross, and Dronfield. Enjoy the freedom of working in your local area with a clearly planned schedule of appointments.
What to Expect
Your day begins with a clear digital schedule, where each job is pre-booked and waiting for you. You’ll be responsible for:
- Routine servicing
- Advanced diagnostics using mobile equipment
- In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop
- Providing member advice and recommendations
- Conducting vehicle safety checks aligned with RAC standards
With everything you need from day one—a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform, and advanced diagnostics—you’ll be empowered to deliver quality work efficiently.

What You’ll Need
- Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
