Your Role in SMR
In this role, you’ll be part of the Slough cluster, covering areas like Slough, Windsor, Maidenhead, and more. Forget emergency callouts and unpredictable shifts; you’ll work through a planned schedule of jobs, allowing you to focus on quality work.
What to Expect:
Your day begins with a clear digital schedule, where each job is pre-booked and the member is expecting you. Your responsibilities will include:
- Routine servicing
- Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
- In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop
- Providing member advice and recommendations
- Conducting vehicle safety checks aligned with RAC standards
With a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform, and advanced diagnostics at your disposal, you’ll have everything you need to get people moving safely and confidently.

What You’ll Need:
- Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
