Are you ready to make a real impact on road safety? We’re on the lookout for a Senior Road Safety Engineer to join our dynamic Kier Design team. This is your chance to be part of an established Road Safety Team, delivering high-quality technical outputs across a diverse range of highways schemes. You’ll collaborate closely with both internal and external clients, focusing on reducing risk, improving network safety, and creating positive road safety outcomes for communities.

Location & Hours

Location: Nationwide - remote working available, with some travel to the office required.
Hours: Permanent Full-time, 37.5 hours per week – we’re open to condensed hours and flexible schedules, just let us know what works for you!

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Road Safety Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of technical excellence across a variety of road safety activities. Your projects will range from small-scale improvement schemes to major programmes of work.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting Road Safety Audits (RSA), Walking, Cycling and Horse-Riding Assessments (WCHAR), and Equality Impact Assessments.
  • Preparing reports and documents in line with DMRB standards and client technical specifications.
  • Conducting site visits during both daytime and nighttime, providing technical advice to design teams.
  • Mentoring junior staff and fostering technical excellence and innovation within the team.
  • Maintaining positive client relationships and attending meetings as required.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if you:

  • Are a member of a professional body with IEng or CEng status, or are working towards it.
  • Can demonstrate training or competence in specialist areas such as RSA or WCHAR, or are on your way to achieving this.
  • Hold a CSCS Card.
  • Have a valid driving licence.
  • Are passionate about road safety and enjoy providing innovative solutions to engineering challenges.
