As a Public Rights of Way Officer, you will play a vital role in keeping our communities connected and ensuring safe access to our beautiful landscapes.
Location
Highways Depot, Bradfield Road, Wellingborough – some travel to the office is required, with opportunities for remote working.
Hours
Permanent Full-time: 37.5 hours per week. We offer some flexibility on hours, so just let us know your preferences when you speak with us!
Salary
£31,634 per year, plus excellent benefits.

Your Responsibilities
As a Public Rights of Way Officer, you will make a positive and visible impact every day. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting planned and reactive inspections across the rights of way network to identify safety issues and raise work orders.
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders, including parish councils, landowners, developers, and the public.
- Managing customer inquiries and updating reports through the Highways Online Reporting Tool.
- Recording and categorizing defects within the Works Management System to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Supporting cyclical maintenance programs, including mowing and vegetation clearance.

- Has knowledge of or qualifications in a relevant field, with an understanding of rights of way legislation.
- Holds a full driving license and is comfortable traveling across the network.
- Brings experience in working on or managing public rights of way.
- Enjoys collaborating with a variety of stakeholders and approaches challenges with a practical, solutions-focused mindset.
- Is well-organized and capable of managing their workload effectively.
