Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to become a key player in our Kier Places – Building Solutions team based in Sheffield.

Location & Hours

Location: Sheffield
Hours: 08:30 – 17:00, Monday to Friday

Your Impact

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be at the forefront of managing the commercial aspects of our projects. You’ll collaborate with our talented teams to deliver high-quality building solutions on diverse refurbishment and building safety projects, typically valued between £5m and £15m. Your expertise will be crucial in maximizing project value while nurturing excellent client relationships.

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Manage commercial resources and maximize project margins through careful contract placement and control.
  • Tender, evaluate, and appoint subcontractors, consultants, and place orders for materials and plant.
  • Identify, negotiate, and agree on project variations with customers and suppliers.
  • Measure, value, and agree on work progress to support invoicing and payment processes.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with clients, consultants, and the supply chain.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if:

  • You possess clear communication skills and have experience working effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and supply chain partners.
  • You hold relevant qualifications (a Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying is desirable) and have experience in a similar role.
  • You are organized, able to prioritize effectively, and comfortable working to deadlines.
  • You are flexible, capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • You are confident using IT packages, including Microsoft Office, and are eager to embrace ongoing training and development.
