Your Role in the SMR Division
In this exciting position, you’ll be part of the Taunton cluster, covering areas like Taunton, Wellington, Minehead, Watchet, and Williton. You’ll work through a clearly planned schedule of appointments, focusing on:
- Routine servicing
- Advanced diagnostics
- In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop
- Providing member advice and recommendations
- Conducting vehicle safety checks aligned with RAC standards
With no emergency callouts or unpredictable shifts, you’ll have the time and tools to deliver quality work. From day one, you’ll receive a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform, and a complete tool set.

What You’ll Need
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
