Position Overview

We are excited to invite applications for a full-time One-to-One Teaching Assistant role. This position is term-time only, Monday to Friday, from 08:30 to 16:30. You will primarily work at our Horsham site, with opportunities to support at local PE venues and college settings.

Your Responsibilities

As a vital member of our team, you will:

• Collaborate with the Headteacher and class teachers to align with our therapeutic approach.
• Support the pupil in both group and individual settings by:
• Clarifying and explaining instructions.
• Ensuring effective use of equipment and materials.
• Providing motivation and encouragement tailored to the pupil's needs.
• Assisting in areas such as speech and language, reading, spelling, and numeracy.
• Using praise and commentary to help the pupil stay focused.
• Liaise with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals regarding Individual Personal Education Plans (PEPs).
• Offer additional nurture as requested by the class teacher or SENCO.
• Implement agreed behavior management strategies consistently.
• Build supportive relationships with the pupil to promote acceptance and inclusion.
• Monitor and adapt learning activities to achieve desired outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• A minimum of GCSE A-C or equivalent in Maths and English.
• A Level 3 or above Teaching Assistant qualification.
• An understanding of the challenges faced by students with Emotional, Behavioural, or Social needs.
• The ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit team.
• Desirable: Experience in a specialist environment.

Working Conditions

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, term-time only, with a salary range of £20,422 - £21,111.51. You will be part of a supportive and dynamic team dedicated to making a positive impact.
