Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to become a key player in our Kier Places – Building Solutions team based in Sheffield.

Location: Sheffield
Hours: 08:30 – 17:00, Monday to Friday

Your Impact

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be at the forefront of managing the commercial aspects of our projects. You’ll collaborate with our talented teams to deliver exceptional building solutions. This is your chance to work on a variety of refurbishment and building safety projects, typically valued between £5m and £15m. Your expertise will not only maximize project value but also foster strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Manage commercial resources and maximize project margins through strategic contract placement and control.
  • Lead the tendering process, evaluate, and appoint subcontractors and consultants, while placing orders for materials and equipment.
  • Identify, negotiate, and agree on project variations with customers and suppliers.
  • Measure, value, and agree on work progress to support invoicing and payment processes.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with clients, consultants, and the supply chain.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if you:

  • Possess excellent communication skills and have experience working effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and supply chain partners.
  • Hold relevant qualifications (a Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying is desirable) and have experience in a similar role.
  • Are organized, able to prioritize effectively, and comfortable working to deadlines.
  • Exhibit flexibility, thriving both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Are confident using IT packages, including Microsoft Office, and are eager to embrace ongoing training and development.
