Are you ready to make a real difference in your local community? We’re looking for a passionate Highways Maintenance Operative to join our dedicated team in Wellington, Somerset. This is your chance to contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the highway network across Somerset!

Location:

Wellington, Somerset, TA21 9AD

Hours:

40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Salary:

Starting from £27,976 plus overtime, call-out, and standby pay.

Your Role:

As a Highways Maintenance Operative, you will be an essential part of our highways maintenance team, ensuring efficient and timely services. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to highway defects within designated timescales, including the installation and removal of emergency traffic management signage.
  • Delivering minor improvement works to enhance the Somerset network.
  • Using tablet devices to maintain accurate records of works and incidents.
  • Operating a variety of plant and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Promoting customer care by collaborating with colleagues and interacting politely with clients and the general public.
