We are on the lookout for an experienced Registered Manager to lead our dedicated team at our home in Badgworth, Axbridge. If you’re passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young people, we want to hear from you!
Your Role
As our Registered Manager, you will:
- Oversee a 3-bedded children’s home in a serene rural setting, managing a team of 6 staff members to ensure high-quality care and enriching living experiences for our young residents.
- Be accountable for the smooth operation and administration of the home, taking on wider operational tasks as needed.
- Produce, update, and monitor plans and reports, demonstrating an organized and flexible approach to your managerial duties.
- Lead, motivate, and develop your staff team in a culture of openness and enthusiasm, including delivering training.
- Represent the company professionally to external agencies and within the local community, contributing to our ongoing development.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Committed to making a real difference in the lives of young people, with a positive, non-judgmental attitude that values their views and feelings.
- Knowledgeable about Children’s Home legislation and Ofsted inspection requirements, as well as child protection and safeguarding procedures.
- Qualified with a recognized social work qualification, such as the QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (Children and Young People) and QCF Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People Workforce or equivalent.
- Experienced, with a minimum of 2 years in a relevant position within the last 5 years, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Licensed to drive a manual car and have access to your own vehicle with business insurance, ready to undertake on-call duties (averaging 2 per month).
What We Offer

- 22 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays.
- Occupancy Bonus: £175 per child after the first child (e.g., for a 3-bed home, that’s an extra £350 per month).
- A £2,000 car allowance.
- Ofsted Report Bonuses: £500 for a Good report and £1,000 for an Outstanding report.
- A non-contributory pension with a 9% employer contribution and company sick pay after 6 months of probation.
- On-call payments: £10 per day Monday to Friday and £50 for Saturday and Sunday.
- Enhanced sick pay: 5 days of full sick pay.
