At the RAC, we’re known for roadside rescue, but our SMR division is all about delivering planned, structured repair and servicing directly to our members. Where You’ll Work
You’ll be part of the Chesterfield cluster, covering areas like Chesterfield, Mansfield, Alfreton, Bolsover, Clay Cross, and Dronfield. Enjoy the freedom of being out on the road, tackling pre-booked appointments that allow you to focus on quality work.
Your Daily Responsibilities
Your day will kick off with a clear digital schedule, and you’ll be expected to:
- Perform routine servicing
- Conduct diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
- Carry out in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop
- Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspections
- Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned with RAC standards

What You’ll Need
- Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
