Manchester Metropolitan University is one of the UK's largest and most popular Universities. The Recruitment and Admissions directorate plays a key role in recruiting and admitting new students to the University. As part of our student recruitment we annually communicate with over 100,000 enquirers and applicants through campaigns and manage in excess of 40,000 visitors to our campuses and online. All our activities are designed to provide potential students with information, advice and guidance to help them make informed choices about going to university and Manchester Met.

This new role in the team will have responsibility for planning, organising, delivering and evaluating the outreach activities in the Faculty of Health and Education. You will work with academics to deliver activities that support the recruitment and widening participation objectives of the faculty. You will also develop and enhance links with subject leaders in key feeder schools and colleges to ensure the outreach provision is timely and suitable for the needs of their learners. You will ensure activities are developed and delivered to a high standard and support the achievement of agreed targets.

In this role you will be responsible for:
  • supporting the growth and development of outreach activities in the faculty
  • critically evaluating existing activities and make recommendations to senior leaders on potential improvements to the programme
  • managing communications with relevant subject contacts in schools and colleges, ensuring they are clear, accurate and successfully promote the activities offered
  • contributing to the wider work of Recruitment and Admissions, including supporting the delivery of events including open days, visit days and clearing

The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload and competing priorities with autonomy. They will be experienced at working with college/university learners and be able to convey information in a confident and clear manner to people at all levels inside and outside of the university. They will have outstanding communication skills including the ability to produce accurate and compelling copy for a range of audiences. They will be keen to promote degrees in Health and Education courses, as well as the careers they can lead to, and will have a passion for supporting young people along their journey into and through higher education.
