Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We’re excited to invite three Senior Quantity Surveyors to join our dynamic KierBAM team based in the stunning Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard.
About the Role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in managing all contractual and financial aspects of a significant redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site. This is not just a job; it’s an opportunity to contribute to vital infrastructure in a secure environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports while conducting cost planning and control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and variations, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Manage procurement processes, evaluate supplier bids, and prepare interim and final payment applications.
- Monitor project progress, forecast final costs, and identify potential financial risks.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors while mentoring junior team members.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if:
- You hold a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering, with professional accreditation such as RICS or CIOB preferred.
- You have at least 5 years of experience in quantity surveying within construction or infrastructure projects, ideally in the nuclear or defence sectors.
- You possess strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost control techniques, with proficiency in quantity surveying software.
- You have excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships across diverse teams.
- You meet the eligibility criteria, including holding a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and having resided in the UK for the past 5 years for security clearance purposes.
Working Conditions
Location: Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard
Hours: 45 hours per week (some flexibility available)
Please note that due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required, which can take up to 8 weeks.
