Are you ready to make a significant impact in the water infrastructure sector? We’re on the lookout for a Part-Time Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic Southern Water team based in Falmer / Chatham. Enjoy the flexibility of remote working with occasional office visits!
About the Role
As a key member of our Commercial team, you’ll play a vital role in delivering one of the most exciting water infrastructure programmes in the UK. With Kier appointed by Southern Water Services for a £3.1bn Strategic Development Partnership Framework, you’ll be involved in projects that enhance water supply and wastewater treatment across the region.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring, forecasting, and reporting project costs and value.
- Preparing monthly and final payment applications.
- Supporting operational teams with contract compliance and cost-saving techniques.
- Assessing and processing subcontract payments in line with contractual requirements.
- Identifying changes and supporting change control procedures on projects.
- Liaising with subcontractors and client commercial teams for financial updates.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if:
- You have experience with NEC contracts and Target Costs.
- You come from a background in the construction infrastructure, water, or civils industry.
- You possess excellent IT skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, and have experience with Oracle and Causeway accounting systems.
- You have strong communication skills and enjoy building relationships.
- You can attend the Falmer or Chatham office at least three days a week (flexible arrangements welcome).
