Specific Hours: 38 hours per week

Salary:

  • Unqualified: Up to £34,079.99 (including sleep-in shifts)
  • Qualified: Up to £35,810.18 (including sleep-in shifts)

About the Role

As a Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that young people receive a safe, positive, and nurturing living experience. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supporting the Residential Support Worker team to deliver high-quality care.
  • Working shifts to ensure the home runs safely and smoothly, in line with safeguarding expectations.
  • Supervising Residential Support Workers, promoting best practices, and acting as a positive role model.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of policies, procedures, and legislation, guiding staff in their application.
  • Building strong, professional relationships with multi-agency partners, families, and the wider community.
  • Supporting care planning, young people's reviews, and progress against individual plans.
  • Encouraging young people to participate in decision-making within the home and community.
  • Promoting equality and anti-discriminatory practices while upholding Health & Safety and data protection requirements.
  • Attending required training and supporting QCF learners as needed.

Essential Skills

To thrive in this role, you should possess:

  • A good standard of education and be working towards (or holding) a Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
  • A strong understanding of childcare legislation, Children's Home Regulations, and quality standards.
  • Experience supporting young people with challenging behaviours.
  • Confidence in report writing, numeracy, general administration, and IT.
  • The ability to build positive, empathetic relationships with young people, committed to achieving the best outcomes.
  • A motivational and supportive leadership style, with the ability to supervise and develop staff.
  • Knowledge of national and local safeguarding procedures and protocols.
