Your New Role
We’re thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity to lead our Technical Services team at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making Of Harry Potter (WBSTL).
As the Technical Services Manager, you will oversee all show-related aspects of the Studio Tour, including lighting, sound, video, sets, props, and show control. Collaborating closely with original filmmakers and select suppliers, you’ll ensure that our Studio Tour operates at the highest standards, delivering a world-class visitor experience.
Your Role Accountabilities
- Manage, train, and develop the Technical Services team to ensure high performance and compliance.
- Drive technical excellence by maintaining show systems and delivering planned preventative maintenance.
- Champion health & safety and continuous improvement, proactively resolving technical issues.
- Oversee resource planning and rota management for operational efficiency.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration for effective planning and delivery of technical installations.
- Act as Duty Manager and Duty Technician to manage day-to-day operations.
- Manage departmental budget and supplier relationships, ensuring strong cost control.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous management experience in a Technical Services team within tourism, leisure, or heritage industries.
- Technical expertise in AV installations, electronics, interactives, and animatronics.
- Project and supplier management experience with strong communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead multi-skilled technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of facilities management and effective problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, and IT skills.
- Qualifications such as IPAF, PASMA, IOSH, NBOSH are advantageous.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time role (40 hours a week) with a shift pattern that includes regular weekend and evening work. Flexibility is key, as you may need to work during weekends, bank holidays, and school holidays in rotation with your team.
As an ambassador for the business, you will support the Head of Show Experience and represent them in meetings with third parties when necessary.
