About the Role
As a Principal Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission. You will work closely with children, foster parents, and a variety of professionals to ensure that safeguarding and positive outcomes are always at the forefront of our efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and deputise for the Registered Manager as needed.
- Supervise team members to promote effective functioning.
- Empower foster parents to reach their full potential.
- Ensure compliance with fostering standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with children, young people, foster parents, and professionals to prioritize safeguarding.
- Join an out-of-hours rota to provide managerial support to Social Workers.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a qualified and experienced social worker who has:
- A Social Care England recognized qualification in Social Work or equivalent.
- Experience working with Children Looked After and foster parents.
- A comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and fostering standards.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work autonomously while being a team player.
- Excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with children, foster parents, and professionals.
- A full driving license with unrestricted access to your own car.
Working Conditions
This is a permanent position based in Long Eaton, with a commitment of 35 hours per week. You may be required to work occasional evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the agency.
What We Offer
- Competitive Salary: £45,000 - £47,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- Car Allowance: £3,000.
- Generous Leave: 30 days of annual leave, increasing to 35 days with length of service, plus bank holidays.
