Your Role
As a Senior/Supervising Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting foster parents and ensuring that children in care achieve outstanding outcomes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing guidance and support to foster parents and their families.
- Monitoring the suitability and competence of foster parents to create a safe and nurturing environment.
- Ensuring foster parents understand their roles and the standards expected of them.
- Conducting regular supervision in line with FCA's operational standards.
- Collaborating with the child's network to identify needs and provide necessary support.
- Maintaining compliance with all key documentation for children and foster parents.
- Participating in meetings and providing reports for commissioning teams.
- Promoting the participation of children in agency development and community resources.
- Being part of an out-of-hours support service and day duty system.
- Conducting occasional initial home visits and Form F Assessments.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A recognized Social Work qualification.
- Professional registration with Social Work England or equivalent.
- A proven ability to produce high-quality reports.
- A comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
- The willingness to travel extensively, including occasional overnight stays.
- Confidence in transporting children and young people in challenging situations.
- A full driving license.
Working Conditions
This position offers a competitive basic salary of up to £41,960.42 per annum, depending on experience. You will work remotely, supporting foster parents in Southampton and Hampshire.
