About Our School
Welcome to Lyttelton House School, where we create a safe and supportive environment for pupils aged 5 to 16 with complex needs. Located in Andover, Hampshire, we have the capacity for up to 60 pupils and are dedicated to fostering a positive and nurturing atmosphere where every child feels valued, respected, and empowered.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Tutor, you will play a crucial role in supporting our students' growth and development. Your responsibilities will include:
- Enhancing wellbeing, readiness for learning, resilience, and behaviour management.
- Collaborating with the Education Team to remove barriers to learning.
- Promoting positive learning behaviours among young people.
- Leading classes during PPA and absence cover, with planning support from teaching staff.
- Delivering engaging enrichment activities during ‘Golden Time’.
- Providing in-class support for academic, pastoral, emotional, or behavioural needs.
- Addressing immediate concerns and resolving situations effectively.
- Creating and collating information related to lessons and interventions.
- Assisting in preparing information for meetings regarding pupils.
- Acting as an advocate for the ethos of Lyttelton House School.
- Leading on Reading and Phonics, tracking progress made by students.
- Developing the Pupil Voice initiative and liaising with the Senior Leadership Team.
- Building strong relationships with parents/carers and supporting transitions.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
- Previous experience in a similar role (e.g., HLTA).
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
- The confidence to take on additional responsibilities in specific areas (e.g., Food Hygiene, Forest School, Lunchtimes, School Yoga).
- Experience in behaviour management techniques.
- A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
