At Polaris Education, we are looking for a dedicated Tutor to join our vibrant team at The Olive Frances School in Banbury, Oxfordshire. About Our School

Located in the heart of Banbury, our school caters to up to 84 pupils aged 5 to 18 with a range of complex needs. We pride ourselves on creating a safe and nurturing atmosphere that promotes both academic success and emotional well-being. Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Tutor, you will play a crucial role in:

  • Supporting the improvement of well-being, readiness for learning, resilience, and behavior management.
  • Collaborating with the education team to help young people overcome barriers to learning.
  • Promoting positive learning behaviors and leading classes during PPA and absence cover.
  • Delivering engaging enrichment activities during golden time.
  • Assisting in lessons to support academic understanding and address pastoral needs.
  • Responding to immediate concerns and clarifying situations as they arise.
  • Creating and collating information related to lessons and interventions.
  • Advocating for the school’s ethos and leading on reading and phonics initiatives.
  • Developing relationships with parents/carers and actively participating in transitions.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as HLTA.
  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
  • Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in areas like Food Hygiene, Forest School, or School Yoga.
  • Skills in behavior management and a commitment to professional development.
