Your Role
As a Supervising Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting foster parents and ensuring that every child in our care reaches their full potential. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting foster parents to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people.
- Monitoring the suitability and competence of foster parents, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
- Providing regular supervision and guidance to foster families in line with FCA’s Operational Standards.
- Collaborating with the child’s network to identify and address any needs within the foster family.
- Ensuring compliance with all key documentation for children and foster parents.
- Participating in meetings and providing reports for commissioning teams.
- Promoting the participation of children and young people in agency development and community resources.
- Being part of an out-of-hours support service on a rota basis.
- Conducting occasional initial home visits and Form F assessments.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A recognized Social Work qualification.
- Professional registration with Social Work England or equivalent.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality reports.
- A comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
- The willingness to travel extensively, including occasional overnight stays.
- Confidence in transporting children and young people in challenging situations.
- A valid full driving licence.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Chorley, with the flexibility of working from home while supporting foster parents in Manchester and surrounding areas.
