Salary: Up to £43,626.47 per annum (dependent on experience)

Your Role

As a Senior/Supervising Social Worker, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting Foster Parents to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people in foster care
  • Monitoring the suitability and competence of Foster Parents
  • Ensuring Foster Parents understand their roles and responsibilities
  • Providing regular supervision to allocated Foster Parents
  • Collaborating with the child’s network to identify needs
  • Ensuring compliance with key documentation for children and Foster Parents
  • Attending meetings and providing reports for commissioning teams
  • Promoting participation of children/young people in agency development
  • Participating in an ‘out of hours’ support service on a rota basis
  • Occasionally conducting initial home visits and Form F assessments

What You Need

To thrive in this role, you must have:

  • A Social Work qualification
  • Professional registration with Social Work Wales or equivalent
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality reports
  • A comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures
  • The willingness to travel extensively, including occasional overnight stays
  • Confidence in transporting children and young people in challenging situations
  • A full driving licence
