Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for three Senior Quantity Surveyors to join our dynamic KierBAM team at the Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard. This is your chance to be part of an exciting redevelopment project at a prestigious Royal Navy site!
Location & Working Hours
Location: Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard
Hours: 45 hours per week (some flexibility available!)
Please note: We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship for this role. Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required, which may take up to 8 weeks.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country.
- Must have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.
Your Role & Responsibilities
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing all contractual and financial aspects of this significant construction project. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports while conducting cost planning and control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Reviewing and negotiating contracts, subcontracts, and variations to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Managing procurement processes, evaluating supplier bids, and preparing interim and final payment applications.
- Monitoring project progress, forecasting final costs, and identifying potential financial risks.
- Collaborating with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors while mentoring junior team members.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if:
- You hold a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering, with professional accreditation such as RICS or CIOB preferred.
- You have at least 5 years of experience in quantity surveying within construction or infrastructure projects, ideally in the nuclear or defence sectors.
- You possess strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost control techniques, with proficiency in quantity surveying software.
- You have excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships across diverse teams.
- You meet the eligibility criteria for security clearance.
