At Polaris Education, we are looking for a dedicated Tutor to join our vibrant community at The Olive Frances School in Banbury, Oxfordshire. Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Tutor, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the well-being and readiness for learning of our students. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the improvement of resilience and behaviour management.
- Collaborating with the education team to remove barriers to learning.
- Promoting positive learning behaviours among students.
- Leading classes during PPA and absence cover, with planning support from teaching staff.
- Delivering enrichment activities during golden time.
- Assisting in lessons to support academic understanding and emotional needs.
- Responding to immediate concerns and clarifying situations.
- Creating and collating information related to lessons and interventions.
- Advocating for the school’s ethos and leading on reading and phonics.
- Developing relationships with parents/carers and participating in transitions.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
- Previous experience in a similar role, such as HLTA.
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
- Confidence to take on additional responsibilities (e.g., Food Hygiene, Forest School, School Yoga).
- Experience in behaviour management techniques.
- A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
