Your New Role
Are you a qualified electrician eager to make a real impact? Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden is on the lookout for a confident and organized Assistant Lead Electrician to help maintain, modify, and install electrical systems across our iconic studio site.
In this hands-on role, you’ll support the Lead Electrician in managing a skilled team of electricians and coordinating subcontractors. You’ll be the go-to person for monitoring productivity and ensuring safe working practices. Your responsibilities will include:
Your Role Accountabilities
- Plan, organize, and execute both planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
- Report progress and updates through various media outlets.
- Maintain accurate records, including sign-off sheets and compliance records.
- Monitor health and safety compliance, ensuring correct PPE is worn.
- Ensure the site's electrical and mechanical equipment is maintained for continuous operation and legal compliance.
- Operate and maintain mechanical systems via the Building Management System (BMS).
- Supervise and instruct team members, carrying out small installations and modifications as needed.
- React to emergencies, implementing permanent or temporary fixes to minimize downtime.
- Back-fill the Lead Electrician role when necessary, managing in-house rotas and support for business needs.
- Audit stock levels to ensure critical spares are always available.
Qualifications & Experiences
- Experience with site plant equipment, such as MEWPS (training provided).
- Familiarity with trailers and forklifts (training provided).
- Working knowledge of industrial and commercial systems.
- Technologically proficient with a solid understanding of Electrical and Automation systems.
- Knowledge of the Building Management System (BMS) (training provided).
- Full working knowledge of health and safety standards.
- Ability to interpret drawings and building specifications for fault finding and installations.
- Full UK driving license.
Aspirational Qualifications & Experiences
- Fully qualified ‘Approved Electrician’ with AM2 and City & Guilds 236-2 or equivalent.
- BS 7671 Electrical Wiring Regulations Accreditation.
- Awareness of Electricity Supply Regulations and the Electricity at Work Act.
- JIB/ECS card.
- 2391, inspecting and testing certification is advantageous.
- NVQ Level 3.
Business Overview
Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden (WBSL) is a world-class film and TV studio, boasting one of the largest facilities in the UK. Our purpose-built site features 20 sound stages, production offices, workshops, an indoor water tank, and an extensive backlot.
WBSL also includes Warner Bros. Set Lighting & Rigging, providing state-of-the-art lighting equipment and production supplies for shoots worldwide. Additionally, Warner Bros. De Lane Lea offers picture and sound post-production services, with a dedicated Dailies department on-site.
Adjacent to the studio, Warner Bros. Leavesden Park offers modern office spaces and The WonderWorks, a bespoke childcare facility for those working on-site. With amenities like an on-site gym, café, and wellbeing room, WBSL is the perfect home for productions and has become the studio of choice for filmmakers globally.
Working Conditions
This role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all working hours will be carried out at the studio. Please note that WBD reserves the right to adjust this working agreement as necessary for business needs, with reasonable notice.
