Santander UK is looking for an Operational Risk Manager based out of Milton Keynes.

Our Risk and Compliance (Operational Risk and Resilience Oversight) Team is planning for our future directions and needs, as our activities surrounding Project Sparrow increase. We are looking for a well-rounded risk professional, with experience across technology, cyber, data and resilience.

We're shaping the way we work through innovation, cutting-edge technology, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for:
  • To deliver change oversight (2LoD), advisory and guidance on transormation programmes where technology, cyber and data are at the core.
  • To support as needed the digital/technology transformation of the bank from a technical risk management perspective.
  • To develop effective and collaborative relationship with all 1LoD and Group key stakeholders, including for TSB activities.
  • To maintain oversight of IT, Data and Cyber Risk Management across Santander UK.
  • Support the Head of Operational Risk and Resilience Oversight to bring together a holistic picture of the technology risk across Santander UK and to enhance the risk management framework and tools to better capture and report on technology risk
  • To maintain up-to-date in-depth industry and technical expertise in the areas of focus - cyber, Resilience, data, technology, Transformation risks and Enterprise Risk Frameworks.

Professional Experience:
  • Experience in operating in a formalised Risk and Compliance function (Required)
  • Oversight of large-scale transformation initiatives, involving operational resilience and technology risks (Required)
  • Broader risk frameworks experience (e.g. policies, standards, metrics, KRIs, reporting, regulatory submissions and 2LoD opinions) (Required)


Education:
  • Degree in related areas (e.g. technology, computing, business management) (Preferred)
  • Risk and technology-related industry qualifications and accreditations (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISK Preferred)


Languages:
  • English (Required)
  • Spanish (Preferred)


Soft Skills:
  • Ability to be pragmatic in forming clear and concise risk-related materials (Preferred)
  • Ability to understand and articulate the 'so-what' and organisational impact of non-financial risks (Preferred)
