Role: Supervising Social Worker

Basic Salary: Up to £38,616.92 per annum (dependent on experience)

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Office Location: Chorley (Home-based with a caseload supporting foster parents in Manchester and surrounding areas)

Your Role Will Include:

  • Supporting foster parents to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people in care
  • Monitoring the suitability and competence of foster parents, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment
  • Providing clear guidance on fostering tasks and expectations
  • Conducting regular supervision in line with FCA's Operational Standards
  • Collaborating with the child's network to identify needs and resources
  • Ensuring compliance with all key documentation for children and foster parents
  • Attending meetings and providing reports for commissioning teams
  • Encouraging participation of children/young people in agency development
  • Participating in an out-of-hours support service on a rota basis
  • Occasionally conducting initial home visits and Form F assessments

What You Need to Bring:

  • A Social Work qualification
  • Professional registration with Social Work England or equivalent
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality reports
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures
  • Willingness to travel extensively, including occasional overnight stays
  • Confidence in transporting children in challenging situations
  • Full driving licence
