Salary: Base salary of £32,349.49, with potential earnings up to £35,606.77 per annum through sleep-in shifts

Location: Carlisle

Specific Hours: 42 hours per week with a rotating shift pattern

Your Role:

As the Deputy Manager at our 4-bed home in Carlisle, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Registered Manager to ensure our home meets its Statement of Purpose and delivers high-quality care. Your leadership will inspire and guide our dedicated team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the Registered Manager in delivering exceptional care.
  • Maintain strong communication within the team and ensure adherence to policies.
  • Oversee care quality, staff training, and development.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor the condition and safety of the home and its equipment.
  • Assist with budgeting and accurate record-keeping.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and child protection.
  • Lead quality assurance and continuous service improvement initiatives.
  • Provide effective team leadership and supervision.
  • Support new staff through their induction process.

About You:

  • Understanding of the challenges faced by young people in care.
  • Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification (or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Willingness to learn and collaborate within a small team.
  • Ability to complete an enhanced DBS check (covered by us).
  • Experience in EBD, social care, residential work, or youth work is advantageous.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence to support other homes when needed.
