Your Role

As a Supervising Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting foster parents and ensuring that children in care achieve outstanding outcomes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing guidance and support to foster families to create a nurturing environment for children.
  • Monitoring the suitability and competence of foster parents, ensuring compliance with FCA policies.
  • Conducting regular supervision sessions and maintaining accurate records.
  • Collaborating with a team to identify and address the needs of foster families.
  • Promoting the participation of children in agency development and community resources.
  • Participating in an out-of-hours support service on a rota basis.
  • Conducting initial home visits and Form F assessments as needed.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification.
  • Professional registration with Social Work England or equivalent.
  • A proven ability to produce high-quality reports.
  • A comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
  • The willingness to travel extensively, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Confidence in transporting children in challenging situations.
  • A full driving license.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Chorley, with a home-based setup supporting foster parents in Manchester and surrounding areas. You will enjoy a supportive work environment that values your contributions.
