About Foster Care Associates

Founded in 1994 by a former foster parent and social worker, Foster Care Associates (FCA) is a leading fostering agency that is part of the Polaris Community, one of the UK's largest networks of children's service providers.

Our mission is simple yet powerful: to make a positive and lasting difference in the lives of looked-after children. From our humble beginnings in Worcestershire, we have grown into a respected agency known for excellence, offering a wide range of services to children and families.

At FCA (Yorks and Lincs), we pride ourselves on our Outstanding Ofsted rating and our dedicated team, who are committed to supporting every child and foster parent in our care. We believe in creating a community where everyone feels involved and empowered to make a difference.

Your Role as a Referrals Officer

As a Referrals Officer, you will be the vital link between local authorities, foster families, and social workers. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing referrals from local authorities and ensuring placements are matched to children's needs.
  • Using your initiative to find creative solutions for foster placement requests.
  • Building positive relationships through effective communication, both written and face-to-face.

While previous experience in children's services is a plus, it’s not essential. What matters most is your passion for making a difference and your excellent organizational and administrative skills. We provide comprehensive training and support to help you thrive in this role.

What We’re Looking For

If you have strong communication and administrative skills and are eager to contribute to the lives of children and families, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
