Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Basic Salary: £24,000 FTE

Your Role

As a Tutor, you will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing and learning readiness of our students. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the improvement of wellbeing, resilience, and behaviour management.
  • Collaborating with the Education Team to help students overcome barriers to learning.
  • Promoting positive learning behaviours.
  • Leading classes during PPA and absence cover, with planning support from teaching staff.
  • Delivering engaging enrichment activities during ‘Golden Time’.
  • Providing in-class support for academic, pastoral, emotional, or behavioural needs.
  • Addressing immediate concerns and resolving situations effectively.
  • Creating and compiling lesson and intervention information.
  • Assisting in preparing information for pupil-related meetings.
  • Advocating for the ethos of Lyttelton House School.
  • Leading on Reading and Phonics, tracking student progress.
  • Enhancing the Pupil Voice initiative in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Building relationships with parents/carers and supporting transitions.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics, along with sound IT skills.
  • Previous experience in a similar role (e.g., HLTA).
  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
  • The confidence to take on additional responsibilities in specific areas (e.g., Food Hygiene, Forest School, Lunchtimes, School Yoga).
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques.
  • A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
