Why Choose Us?

At Easthorpe School, we are more than just an educational institution; we are a nurturing community dedicated to empowering children and young people. Opened in November 2022, our independent specialist provision in the East Midlands is designed for those living with families, foster carers, or in residential homes.

As we expand to accommodate growing pupil numbers in our Lower School (ages 7-13), we maintain a supportive environment with class sizes capped at 6 pupils, each guided by a qualified teacher and up to 2 teaching assistants.

We cater to pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as various diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and more. This is your chance to make a real impact in their lives while enhancing your own teaching skills in a rewarding sector!

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Collaborate with the class team to facilitate learning and promote positive behaviors.
  • Monitor pupil progress and work with staff to ensure individual needs are met.
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom activities and trips.
  • Build positive relationships to support learning outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • A degree-level education.
  • Experience teaching GCSE Science at the secondary level.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Strong behavior management skills.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

What We Offer You

  • A workplace that prioritizes wellbeing.
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • The chance to make a meaningful difference in students' lives.
  • A supportive and inclusive team environment.

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check, with costs covered by Easthorpe School. We are proud to be an equal opportunities employer, committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All staff are expected to share this commitment.
