Location: Long Eaton, Milton Keynes, and Stonehouse/Gloucester will be considered

Hours: 35 hours per week, permanent

Salary: £45,000 - £47,000 per annum, dependent upon experience

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Principal Social Worker, you will:

  • Support and deputise for the Registered Manager as needed.
  • Supervise team members to ensure effective functioning.
  • Empower and promote foster parents to reach their full potential.
  • Monitor compliance and promote best practices among foster parents and staff.
  • Collaborate with children, young people, foster parents, and professionals to prioritize safeguarding and positive outcomes.
  • Join an out-of-hours rota to provide managerial support to Social Workers when the office is closed.

What We’re Looking For

We seek a qualified and experienced social worker who:

  • Holds a Social Work England recognized qualification or equivalent.
  • Has experience working with children and young people, particularly those looked after.
  • Possesses a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and fostering standards.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of trauma-informed approaches and their application in fostering services.
  • Has supervisory or management experience in a social work setting (desirable).
  • Exhibits strong leadership skills and a passion for making a difference.
  • Can work autonomously while being an effective team player.
  • Has excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with children, foster parents, and professionals.
  • Holds a full driving license with unrestricted access to a car.
