Location & Hours

Location: Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard

Hours: 45 hours per week (some flexibility available—just let us know during our conversation!)

Important Eligibility Criteria

Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required, which can take up to 8 weeks. Candidates must:

• Hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country
• Have resided in the UK for the past 5 years

About KierBAM

KierBAM is a Joint Venture partnership between Kier and BAM Nuttall, currently engaged in an exciting redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site in Plymouth. Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be an integral part of the KierBAM team, focusing on:

• Preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports while conducting cost planning and control throughout the project lifecycle
• Reviewing and negotiating contracts, subcontracts, and variations to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards
• Managing procurement processes, evaluating supplier bids, and preparing interim and final payment applications
• Monitoring project progress, forecasting final costs, and identifying potential financial risks
• Collaborating with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors while mentoring junior team members

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if:

• You hold a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering, with professional accreditation such as RICS or CIOB preferred
• You have strong experience in quantity surveying within construction or infrastructure projects, ideally in the nuclear or defence sectors
• You possess in-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost control techniques, with proficiency in quantity surveying software
• You have excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build collaborative relationships across diverse teams
• You meet the eligibility criteria for security clearance
