Basic Salary: Up to £38,616.92 per annum (dependent upon experience)

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Office Location: Chorley (Homebased, supporting foster parents in Manchester and surrounding areas)

Your Role

As a Supervising Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting foster parents and ensuring that children in care achieve outstanding outcomes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting foster parents and their families to create nurturing environments for children and young people.
  • Monitoring the suitability and competence of foster parents.
  • Ensuring foster parents understand their roles and the standards expected of them.
  • Providing regular supervision to foster parents in line with FCA's Operational Standards.
  • Collaborating with the child's network to identify needs and resources.
  • Ensuring compliance with all key documentation for children and foster parents.
  • Attending meetings and providing reports for commissioning teams.
  • Promoting the participation of children and young people in agency development.
  • Participating in an out-of-hours support service on a rota basis.
  • Conducting occasional initial home visits and Form F assessments.

What You Bring

We are looking for passionate individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • A Social Work qualification.
  • Professional registration with Social Work England or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality reports.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including occasional nights away.
  • Confidence in transporting children and young people in challenging situations.
  • Full driving licence.
