About Polaris

Polaris Community is proud to be one of the UK’s largest children’s services providers and the first independent fostering provider in the country. We deliver a range of essential services, including fostering, residential care, specialist education, adoption, therapy, and leaving care services, supporting children and young people from Glasgow to Plymouth and Belfast to London.

At the heart of our operations is a dedicated Information & Performance team that ensures our data flows seamlessly. We’re on the lookout for a passionate Data Analyst to join our dynamic team!

What You’ll Do

As a Data Analyst, you’ll dive into a complex and meaningful environment where your work truly matters. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Manage a central SQL Server environment with SSRS reporting, pulling data from various third-party platforms.
  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines using SSIS, Power Automate, PowerShell, and batch scripts.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive library of stored procedures.
  • Deliver self-service reporting to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Handle a variety of ad-hoc data requests, analysis, and report development across all service areas.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a proactive problem-solver who thrives on challenges. If you’re the type who dives into queries and enjoys unraveling complex issues, you might be the perfect fit!

Technical Skills You’ll Need

  • Solid T-SQL skills, including reading, writing, and troubleshooting queries.
  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and report development.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Agent.
  • Comfort with MS Office, especially Excel and formula writing.
  • Exposure to PowerShell, CMD, VBA, or similar scripting is a bonus.
  • Experience with Power Automate would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint is a plus.

A SQL Server certification is helpful but not essential; we value your practical skills over formal qualifications.

Beyond the Technical

  • A relentless curiosity that drives you to explore and learn.
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of challenges.
  • Confidence in collaborating with non-technical stakeholders to understand their needs.
  • A genuine passion for self-directed learning; this is a key part of the role.

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!
