Join Our Team as a Data Analyst!

Location: Bromsgrove

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum

Why Work with Us?

At Polaris Community, we are proud to be one of the UK's largest children's services providers and the first independent fostering provider in the country. Our mission is to support children and young people across the UK, from Glasgow to Plymouth and Belfast to London. We offer a range of services including fostering, residential care, specialist education, adoption, therapy, and leaving care services.

Join our small but dynamic Information & Performance team and play a vital role in keeping our data flowing. Here, your work will have a direct impact on the lives of vulnerable children, making it a truly rewarding experience.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Data Analyst, you will:

  • Manage a central SQL Server environment with SSRS reporting.
  • Pull data from multiple third-party platforms across various service areas.
  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines using SSIS, Power Automate, PowerShell, and batch scripts.
  • Develop and maintain a large library of stored procedures.
  • Deliver self-service reporting to stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Handle a constant stream of ad-hoc data requests, analysis, and report development.

What We’re Looking For

We want a problem-solver who thrives on challenges. If you encounter an issue you've never faced before, you dive into the data, explore solutions, and learn along the way. Here’s what you’ll need:

Technical Skills

  • Solid T-SQL skills, including reading, writing, and troubleshooting queries.
  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and report development.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Agent.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and formula writing.
  • Exposure to PowerShell, CMD, VBA, or similar scripting is a bonus.
  • Experience with Power Automate and familiarity with SharePoint would be advantageous.
  • A SQL Server certification is helpful but not essential; we value your skills over your credentials.

Beyond the Technical

  • A relentless curiosity and a passion for learning.
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of your projects.
  • Confidence in collaborating with non-technical stakeholders to understand their needs.
  • A genuine appetite for self-directed learning; this is essential for success in this role.

What We Offer

We believe in taking care of our team. Here’s what you can expect:

  • 30 days of annual leave, increasing to 35 days with length of service.
  • Bank holidays off.
  • A company pension plan.
  • Life assurance coverage.
  • An employee discount scheme.
  • Free on-site parking.
