Position: Principal Social Worker - Fostering

Location: Long Eaton, Milton Keynes, and Stonehouse/Gloucester will be considered

Hours: 35 hours per week, permanent

Salary: £45,000 - £47,000 per annum, dependent upon experience

Your Role

As our Principal Social Worker, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of the children and young people we care for. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting and deputizing for the Registered Manager as needed
  • Supervising team members to ensure effective functioning
  • Promoting and supporting foster parents to reach their full potential
  • Ensuring compliance and monitoring standards for foster parents and staff
  • Collaborating with children, young people, foster parents, and professionals to prioritize safeguarding and positive outcomes
  • Joining an out-of-hours rota to provide managerial support to Social Workers

What We’re Looking For

We seek a qualified and experienced social worker with a passion for making a difference. Ideal candidates will have:

  • A Social Work England recognized qualification in Social Work or equivalent
  • Experience working with children and young people, including those looked after
  • A comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and fostering standards
  • A full driving license with unrestricted access to your own car

Additionally, you should possess:

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work autonomously
  • A deep understanding of trauma-informed approaches
  • Excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with children, foster parents, and professionals
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed
