About the Role

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Principal Social Worker to join our dedicated team in Long Eaton, Milton Keynes, or Stonehouse/Gloucester. This is a permanent position, offering 35 hours per week, with a competitive salary ranging from £45,000 to £47,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Your Responsibilities

  • Support and deputise for the Registered Manager as needed.
  • Supervise team members to ensure effective functioning.
  • Promote and support foster parents to help them reach their full potential.
  • Monitor compliance and promote best practices among foster parents and staff.
  • Work collaboratively with children, young people, foster parents, and professionals to ensure safeguarding and positive outcomes.
  • Join an out-of-hours rota to provide managerial support to Social Workers.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Social Work England recognized qualification in Social Work or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children and young people, particularly those looked after.
  • A comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and fostering standards.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work autonomously while being a team player.
  • Excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with children, foster parents, and professionals.
  • A full driving license with unrestricted access to your own car.

Working Conditions

This role may require occasional evening and weekend work to meet the needs of the agency. Your safeguarding knowledge will be paramount as you navigate this rewarding position.
