Location: Bromsgrove

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum

Why Work With Us?

At Polaris Community, we are proud to be one of the UK’s largest children’s services providers and the first independent fostering provider in the country. Our mission is to support vulnerable children and young people across the UK, from Glasgow to Plymouth and Belfast to London.

As part of our dedicated team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our services run smoothly and effectively. Join us in making a difference!

What You’ll Do

As a Data Analyst, you will be an integral part of our small, dynamic Information & Performance team. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Manage a central SQL Server environment with SSRS reporting.
  • Pull data from multiple third-party platforms across various service areas.
  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines using SSIS, Power Automate, PowerShell, and batch scripts.
  • Develop and maintain a large library of stored procedures.
  • Deliver self-service reporting to stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Handle a variety of ad-hoc data requests, analysis, and report development.

This role offers a complex and meaningful environment where your contributions genuinely matter, supporting services for vulnerable children across the country.

What We’re Looking For

We seek a proactive problem-solver who thrives on challenges. If you’re someone who:

  • Opens a query window to tackle unfamiliar problems head-on.
  • Reads error messages thoroughly and digs deep until you understand the issue.
  • Has a genuine curiosity and a passion for self-directed learning.

Technical Skills You’ll Need

  • Solid T-SQL skills, including reading, writing, and troubleshooting queries.
  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and report development.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Agent.
  • Comfort with MS Office, especially Excel and formula writing.
  • Exposure to PowerShell, CMD, VBA, or similar scripting is a bonus.
  • Experience with Power Automate and familiarity with SharePoint would be advantageous.
  • A SQL Server certification is helpful but not essential; we value your practical skills more.

Beyond the Technical

We value:

  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of your projects.
  • Confidence in collaborating with non-technical stakeholders to understand their needs.

What We Offer

  • 30 days of annual leave, increasing to 35 days with length of service.
  • Bank holidays.
  • Company pension.
  • Life assurance.
  • Employee discount scheme.
  • Free on-site parking.

If you’re ready to make a meaningful impact and grow in a supportive environment, we’d love to hear from you!
