Location & Hours

  • Location: Cardiff (remote working available with occasional office visits)
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week (flexibility available)

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Drainage Engineer, you will:

  • Assist the Drainage Lead in delivering a portfolio of projects on time and within budget, specializing in highway drainage and collaborating with Lead Local Flood Authorities (LLFAs).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and statutory bodies to ensure project success.
  • Lead technically challenging drainage projects, providing innovative and sustainable solutions.
  • Coordinate daily tasks, check deliverables, and uphold quality standards.
  • Support team development through mentoring, coaching, and sharing your expertise.
  • Manage project delivery within established programmes and budgets, raising concerns promptly.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if:

  • You have experience in highway drainage, water utilities, and working with Lead Local Flood Authorities.
  • You’re proficient in InfoDrainage and AutoCAD Civils3D, with strong technical skills.
  • You hold a Civil Engineering degree (or similar qualification) and membership with a relevant engineering body.
  • You have significant experience successfully leading diverse drainage projects.
  • You’re a clear communicator who enjoys collaborating and supporting team development.
