This is your chance to support the delivery of essential infrastructure services for Shropshire Council while gaining invaluable hands-on experience!

Location: Shrewsbury with agile working options
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - enjoy some flexibility in your schedule!
Salary
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per year + excellent benefits

Your Responsibilities
As our new Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Shropshire commercial team. Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Assisting with pricing capital maintenance schemes, including surfacing, drainage, and structural repairs.
- Supporting cost management for winter maintenance, emergency response, and street scene activities.
- Assessing valuations, calculating payments, and monitoring subcontractor performance.
- Contributing to monthly Cost Value Reports and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborating with the commercial team on various duties as required.
What We’re Looking For
This role could be a perfect fit for you if you:
- Have experience in construction, ideally within a commercial or quantity surveying environment.
- Are confident using Microsoft Excel and comfortable with digital tools.
- Possess strong numerical skills and a keen eye for detail, taking pride in producing accurate work.
- Are currently studying towards, or open to studying for, a commercial or quantity surveying degree.
- Enjoy working as part of a team, with a positive approach to problem-solving and collaboration.
