Join Our Team as a Development Management Site Inspector!
Are you ready to make a real impact on local infrastructure? We’re seeking a Development Management Site Inspector to join our dynamic Highway Development Management team based in Brixworth, Northamptonshire. This is your chance to play a pivotal role in shaping new developments across the region!
Your Role
As a key point of contact for developers and contractors, you will oversee the construction of new streets destined for adoption by the local highway authority. This role combines site-based oversight, stakeholder engagement, and the opportunity to influence quality in local projects.
Location & Hours
- Location: Brixworth, Northamptonshire – Daily travel to construction sites and the office required, with occasional work-from-home options available.
- Hours: Permanent Full-time, 37.5 hours per week – Some flexibility on hours is available; just let us know during our conversation!

Your Responsibilities
In this exciting role, you will:
- Monitor developer and contractor works for compliance with approved documentation, specifications, planning requirements, legal agreements, and permits.
- Identify non-compliant work, agree on remedial actions, and monitor successful completion.
- Ensure operational and public safety, including traffic management compliance.
- Liaise with developers, designers, contractors, and technical teams to identify and agree on design changes.
- Maintain accurate project databases and records, including inspection reports, audits, and as-built records.
What We’re Looking For
This role could be a perfect fit for you if you have:
- Relevant experience in civil engineering, supported by an HNC/HND level qualification or equivalent.
- Previous experience supervising highway works on site, with familiarity in Section 38 and Section 278 processes.
- A solid understanding of Safety at Street Works and Road Works (code of practice) and CDM roles.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize workloads effectively.
- Confident communication and interpersonal skills to build positive and collaborative working relationships.
