Are you ready to take your engineering career to the next level? We are excited to invite an enthusiastic Assistant Bridge Engineer to join our dynamic Structures & Geotechnical team based in the vibrant city of Birmingham.

About the Role

As an Assistant Bridge Engineer at Kier, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of highways structures projects across various prestigious clients, including National Highways Major Projects, SDF, TfL, and the South Wales Trunk Road Agency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Lead Engineer in delivering highways structures schemes.
  • Assist with investigations, inspections, data analysis, and design development.
  • Produce technical designs, drawings, and documentation.
  • Conduct site visits and apply relevant standards (DMRB/MCHW).
  • Collaborate effectively to meet project and utilization targets.
  • Promote SHEQ, CDM, and Health & Safety compliance across all activities.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if you:

  • Hold a degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering.
  • Are working towards IEng or CEng status.
  • Have experience or a keen interest in highways structures design.
  • Are familiar with DMRB, MCHW, and CDM regulations.
  • Possess strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills.

Working Conditions

Location: Birmingham
Hours: 37.5 hours per week – with some flexibility available.
Salary: Starting from £32,000 per annum.
